His enthusiasm and passion come directly from several near death experiences he has faced and overcome in his life. “I learned at 8 years old that my mother was electrocuted while pregnant with me! When I learned of this miracle, I had two distinct thoughts. The first was that I had super powers (I picked up my first magic trick that year). Derek used that motivation to start speaking at the young age of fifteen to audiences in the hundreds and then thousands. A college graduate, his balanced approach comes from investing years as an advisor in post-secondary education.
